Art Schooled is a film I shot during my last
semester in college. It is an installation in
which six videos play simultaneously
projected onto a wall.
With this project I wanted to encapsulate a
graduating art student's thoughts, feelings,
and fears about their future. Being an artist
is not always easy and I asked students
everything from "Has it all been done?" to
"Are you selfish enough to be an artist?"
We talked about being innovative, finding
inspiration, and the current state of
contemporary art. My perplexities with
these subjects and my desire to film are
what pushed me to create this. As my
graduation approached, I was left with the
same questions I asked my peers.
